Love Song Lyrics:

Quote:

JULIET I, v: "My only love, sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late!"

Written Response:

I take this quote as saying Juliet is in love with her only enemy. And she found out too late to prevent her true feelings about him. She knows she can't love him, but for some reason she can't stop herself. I think Juliet is following her heart not her head in this situation. She is capable of not loving Romeo, but she thinks she is incapable of it. She doesn’t take her time and trying to figure out a solution to the problem. She is just going with the flow, and not knowing the outcome could be deadly. This quote relates to the rest of the story by proving that the little things she rushes into can have a bigger outcome than she thinks it can. It also shows how Juliet is still young, and not fully ready nor capable of making life changing decisions by herself. This quote shows the rivalry between the two families, and how they hate each other. Also this quote says how Juliet fell for Romeo before she knew who he was. Most teenagers today think they are "in love" with one another. In my opinion teenagers are capable of loving one another, but you have to take time to build the love. You have to know each other like you have your whole life. Being in love can be a wonderful thing, but at the same time it can be horrible. Love is like a rollercoaster, and Romeo and Juliet rushed right to the front of the line.

“O happy dagger! This is they sheath; there rust, and let me die.” –Juliet V, iii
This quote is saying Juliet is relieved to die, because she can be at peace with Romeo. She is going to kill herself to save herself the mercy of being depressed, and dying slowly of a broken heart. This quote relates to the other characters by showing how Juliet really feels. Also how she has the chance to solve all her problems by choosing a different path, but she would rather be with Romeo dead or alive. This quote is presented to us by the end of the story. It gives us a good idea on what might happen next. This shows how love is a very strong emotion, and can beat any angry, sadness, or happiness. After Juliet says this line she ends up stabbing herself lying down to die beside Romeo, her true love.
